TR!CKSTER

Hey loyal followers of SKOTTIESCOTT! A couple of quick things:

By now all of you keen-eyed folks out there have probably seen that we're planning the launch of TR!CKSTER, a new way of promoting creator-owned work and endeavors. It's equal parts retail space, gallery, and symposia. These symposia are focused, intense workshops designed for people interested in HOW we work and WHY we do what we do, creator-owend style. We feel that, from up and comers to seasoned professionals, everyone should continue to learn and be open to new ways of thinking and the symposia are for just that.

Skottie and I are offering a very special symposia: SKOTTIESCOTT: LIVE. We'll be focusing on character design for different types of storytelling and content: why you'd use certain shape or line quality in different situations to establish tone, weight, and acting. We'll focus on the concept of storytelling in a single illustration, what that means, and how it can inform every panel of a comic. We'll deal with style vs. substance and how to develop a unique voice in your drawings.

The Symposia are ticketed affairs and will be offered for a fee, online, very soon at TR!CKSTER's website. They'll be VERY LIMITED SEATING to maintain this unique workshop atmosphere.

We'd like to thank you all for patiently waiting out a week off here on the blog. Skottie and I get a little crazy with making books, movies, and mayhem and sometimes need to step back and breathe. But we'll be back!
