UPDATE: SOLD
"I'm getting too old for this sort of thing."
I love that strange old hermit, Ben. Alec Guiness had this look, this kind of non-plussed, "oh, all right" kind of feigned enthusiasm. It really sold him as the weather-worn Jedi Knight he needed to be.
9"x12", cell vinyl on watercolor paper. This took maybe 45 minutes, and some process shots are below. $250 US, $275 international. E-MAIL if your father wanted you to have this when you were old enough, but your uncle wouldn't allow it.

That last line is more than enough to make me sorry I missed this one! Excellent Ben Kenobi, Scott. I bow down. If you paint a Yoda, we're doooomed.
ReplyDeleteYou guys should do Indiana Jones when your done with Star Wars!
ReplyDeleteI amazed at how much personality this has. And the likeness is great.

ReplyDeletePure genius, Scott. Some people would work weeks to capture what you did in 45 minutes.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, "You've got more talent in one lug-nut than most race cars have in their entire body."
I am really enjoying this blog. It is a great place to learn. I have been checking out for awhile now. I really like to see the creative process in action, thanks for the pics. I had not heard of cell vinyl before... Now I want to give it a shot.
